Our Services
Public Education on Mental Health Promotion in Online and Offline Modes
- In 2024, the Wellness Centre launched the 'NewLIFEstyle' page on Instagram, a multimedia online social platform, inviting the public to explore a 'new lifestyle' with the goal of enhancing mental wellness together. The page also shares diverse mental health information, aiming to integrate well-being into everyone’s life.
- Our Association regularly organizes a range of mental health education seminars and workshops in both online and offline formats. For more information, please follow the Instagram page of 'Newlifestyle.'
'HEAL My Mind' A Journey into Nature
- In 2024, The Wellness Centres launched the 'Heal My Mind' - A Journey into Nature, by creating a series of four concise mindfulness videos using Virtual Reality (VR) technology. The aim is to encourage the public to slow down amidst the fast-paced rhythms of life, open their senses, and immerse themselves in the tranquil and beautiful natural landscapes. Accompanied by audio guidance, participants can practice mindfulness, be present in the moment, and rediscover spaces for healing the mind and reconnecting with themselves.
'The Wellness Centre' (TWC) Mobile Application
- In 2022, with the rapid application and development of information technology, TWC commissioned a programming company to develop a mobile application aimed at enhancing communication and connection with the public and our members.
- In July 2023, it was officially launched on two major mobile operating platforms for public download and use. This mobile application not only serves as a channel to promote holistic well-being and community resources to the public, but also enables our members to promptly access our latest updates and sign up for various activities at their convenience, anytime and from anywhere.
Experience.Awareness.Reflection (E.A.R.) project
- In 2018, the Wellness Centre spearheaded the “Experience.Awareness.Reflection” (E.A.R.) project, the pioneering initiative in Hong Kong to leverage Virtual Reality (VR) filming technology, allowing participants to immerse themselves in and experience the life stories of People-in-recovery from a “first-person” perspective. This immersive experience serves to deepen their comprehension of psychosis symptoms and the challenges faced by the PIRs, consequently raising public awareness of mental health and nurturing respect, understanding, and empathy towards our PIRs.
- In 2019, the E.A.R. Project was awarded with the Top 10 Outstanding Service Awards under the Best Practice Awards in Social Welfare 2019 hosted by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service.
'Mental Wellness on Campus' Healthy School Promotion and Education Program
- In 2016, the Wellness Centre implemented the “Mental Wellness on Campus” Healthy School Promotion and Education Program, utilizing a “Three-tier Intervention” model aimed at providing one-stop integrated mental health service to align with the overall school curriculum, cater to the mental health needs of individual students and parents, and enhance the mental well-being of adolescents.
- Starting from 2024, this program will be further optimized to align with the Education Bureau's implementation of the '4Rs Mental Health Charter,' providing schools with comprehensive mental health promotion and education services.
"Love.Inclusion.Volunteer" Project
- In 2013, the Wellness Centre established the “Love.Inclusion.Volunteer" Project with the aim of spreading the seeds of a "caring culture" within the community. The project seeks to cultivate a group of volunteers to play an active role in planning and executing a series of "harmony and integration" caring community activities, promoting positive values, such as "love, inclusion, volunteerism" and fulfilling their civic responsibilities within their families and communities.
- The "Love.Inclusion.Volunteer" Project promotes the concepts of cohesion, participation, and companionship, actively recruiting community members, people-in-recovery, and their family members as volunteers. Through providing opportunities for connection, exchange, and training, the program unites volunteer forces and cultivates their spirit of serving the community, jointly promoting public awareness of mental health. Moreover, the program offers volunteers opportunities to participate in community services and implement activities, such as visiting those in underprivileged living conditions, holiday and rural area visits, and supporting center operations, to foster an inclusive community.
