[330] Health Index Questionnaire

"Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity."

- World Health Organization (1948)

The multitude of well-being encompasses physical, psychosocial, as well as transcendental domains. One of key missions of New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association (hereafter, "New Life") is to promote well-being to the general public, which can be developed through greater exposure to nature, community care, and the pursuit of a meaningful life.

Know your 330 Well-Being

The dayday330 well-being index, developed by New Life and Professor Winnie Wing-sze MAK from the Department of Psychology of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, adopts the 'Comprehensive Well-Being Scale' (CWBS) (Sham, Yeung, Mak & Powell, 2021).

The relevant research findings were published in the international academic journal 'BMC Psychology' in 2021. Subsequent studies have been undertaken by New Life and Professor Patrick Wing-leung LEUNG, Director of Graduate Studies in Clinical Psychology of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. The CWBS is found to be additionally related to such human strengths as resilience, optimism, and meaning in life. Preliminary norms have been gathered with cutoffs identified for classifying individuals at different levels of mental well-being.

In Cantonese, '330' rhymes with "body, mind, spirit" is 'Physical (Body), Psychosocial

The dayday330 campaign, launched by us in the New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association (New Life), is a year-round public awareness campaign on mental well-being. Embracing New Life's belief in fostering a holistic 330 well-being (3 stands for body, 3 for mind 0 for spirit) among every one of us, dayday330 campaign encourages every one of us to practise a simple micro break of a least 3 minutes 30 seconds every day. There has been research evidence showing that taking a micro-break everyday can help reduce stress, relieve emotions and enhance well-being.
